Voice of Democracy
The Veterans of Foreign Wars established the Voice of Democracy (VOD) program to provide students a forum to present their thoughts regarding democratic ideas and priciples.
The essay competition is open to students in grades 9 – 12 in public, private or parochial high schools or home-study programs in the United States and its territories.
Each year a new theme is chosen and participants need to record their essays on a CD and submit the along with a typed copy and entry form to their local Post by November 1st of that year. Local and national winners receive thousands of dollars in scholarships for post-secondary education. Contact your school or our Post for further details.
